In Brazil, Cafezinho literally means "a little coffee." This traditional drink is a small, intense and very sweet shot of black coffee. Handed down from generation to generation, Cafezinho is still available in cafes throughout the country today.
To make your own Cafezinho, you will need:
1 cup water
1 heaping TBSP of good coffee ground for espresso
Sugar to taste
Add the water and sugar to the pan. Dissolve the sugar. Bring the sugar water to a boil over medium heat. Add the coffee, stir well and remove from the heat immediately. Using a cloth coffee strainer (a paper filter will do in a pinch), strain the mixture into a cup.
Cafezinho can be enjoyed plain or with a little extra flavor of your own choosing.
